In front of a packed house at Malosky Stadium, the UMD Bulldogs opened the regular season with a 32-7 win over the University of Sioux Falls.

Austin Sikorski rushed for two touchdowns at 104 yards on 24 carries. Freshman quarterback Drew Bauer also picked up a rushing touchdown and threw for 68 yards. Sophomore quarterback Eric Kline hurled the Bulldogs' only passing touchdown, an 18 yard connection with Zach Zweifel.

The UMD defense was a strong point, registering five sacks and an interception.

This was Curt Wiese's first win as UMD's head coach.
