Iron Range Housekeeping Olympics

It's International Housekeepers Week, so hotel, motel and resort housekeeping staff will be competing in the Iron Range Housekeeping Olympics on September 16th at Fortune Bay Resort and Casino.

The event, which begins at 11:00 AM, pits teams of housekeepers from various hotels, resorts and motels against each other. They compete in four events: bed stripping and making, linen folding, laundry stacking, and an obstacle course.

The Iron Range Housekeeping Olympics was designed to celebrate the work of hotel housekeepers and foster friendship between area lodging businesses.

National Housekeepers Week began in 1981, and gained international involvement in 1996. Thousands of lodging businesses across the U.S. now participate.

The event on Monday culminates in an award ceremony and a barbecue for all the participants.
