The Grand Rapids superintendent has announced he'll be resigning.
Joe Silko told Eyewitness News Tuesday afternoon that he made the announcement at the school board meeting Monday evening.
Silko said he will continue working in the education field in northeastern Minnesota. While he wouldn't tell us what new position he will hold, he said will be able to "impact even more students in a positive way in that position than I could in this one."
Silko said the Grand Rapids district is a wonderful place to work with tremendous parents, staff and students.
October 15th will be Silko's last day.
