Real estate developer Mark Lambert publicly announced five of the six new retailers that will be opening in the new $20 million BlueStone Lofts development on Tuesday.
The upscale housing and retail complex is being built on Woodland Ave. The first phase was a 99 unit apartment complex, which is already 82 percent filled. Phase two was announced Tuesday: the retail stores that are coming.
Lambert told the large crowd at Tuesday'sopen house, "The great thing about this area is everybody wants to be up here. It's near the university, it's near the east hill[side], it's on Woodland Avenue. We actually had 50 different retailers look at our location. We tried to find retailers that were meaningful to our area and to the new BlueStone community."
Among those moving in is Starbucks, Northern Communities Credit Union, Chilly Billies Frozen Yogurt, Sports Clips and Waxing the City — a personal service salon.
Lambert says the sixth retail spot is not final but told today's crowd burrito lovers will be pleased.
Lambert says the new apartments are not just for college students — the two, three, and four bedroom apartments are available to anyone.
The new retail stores are expected to be open by February.
