Kim and Jennifer stopped by from Itasca Community Connect. They are the co-chairs of this event, focused on providing the community with the services they need to live well.
"We have over 60 agencies from Itasca County and surrounding areas that are coming to the event," said Jennifer. These agencies will be able to provide assistance to people in need. Jennifer tells us that there will be fuel assistance, childcare resources, a nutrition clinic, medical and dental information, and much more.
There will also be a free meal served, along with free childcare so parents can concentrate on getting the information they need. "The childcare is going to be staffed by Head Start and Invest Early staff members, so their children will be well taken care of," Kim tells us.
Community Connect provides services for all people in need. It's made of up multiple agencies, non-profits and volunteers, and is led by committee. Kim and Jennifer are the co-chairs.
Itasca Community Connect will take place on Thursday, October 3rd from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the IRA Civic Center Arena in Grand Rapids.
