Peter Jay Olson
A former Duluth Little League and basketball coach who was accused of sexual abuse has pleaded guilty.
Peter Jay Olson was arrested this past summer and charged with eight felonies. In court Thursday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The other six counts will be dismissed.
At the hearing, Olson admitted to sexually touching two boys he met through coaching and taking pictures of the boys and himself without clothes.
The case began in November of 2012 when the Salvation Army hired someone to conduct an investigation into Olson over child pornography allegations. Olson had been an employee there for about 20 years, running a youth basketball program.
Olson's public defender told the court that his client is prepared to serve prison time. Sentencing is set for November 25.
