A Wisconsin couple has donated a total of $100 million to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Eighty-seven million dollars will help a new center to improve the way patients experience health care. Robert and Patrick Kerns donated the money.
Tuesday morning, Robert used the movie "Casablanca" to help explain why. "His last words were, 'we'll always have Paris' and it's my hope with this center and the other contributions here that we can all say 'we'll always have Mayo Clinic."
To honor the Kerns, Mayo will name the center the "Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery."
