The Great Lakes Aquarium hosted its 13th annual "Scarium at the Aquarium" party Sunday.
When kids explored the aquarium they found even more activities than usual, like costumed scuba divers, trick or treating, and face painting. Communications Coordinator Allison Iacone says throwing parties like this gives the kids a sense of ownership at the aquarium.
"Scarium is our gift to the community and to the children who love the aquarium," she said. "The aquarium is a very special place for children and we like to give them a day where they can come here and just have a celebration and have a party, learn a couple of things about animals and the lake, and just have fun."
Kids 12 and under got into the party for free with a costume and a paid adult admission.
