Professor Gene Koshinski from UMD's Music Department joined us on the show Wednesday, to talk about the upcoming performance by Rogerio Boccato and his Quartet.

Gene tells us that Rogerio has been working in the New York City area for the past ten years, but he is originally from Brazil. The Rogerio Boccato Quarteto is a jazz based group, but Gene says, "they draw from...unheard of or unique Brazilian tunes."

Jazz fans and non-jazz fans will get a lot out of this performance, Gene says. The mix of jazz and international music should be amazing! "(Boccato) is a world class performer," Gene tells us.

The performance is Thursday night, November 7th at 7:30 PM at Weber Music Hall, UMD. If you'd like more information, you can head to their website.
