Saturday was Wisconsin's deer hunting opener, and Joe Gotelaere bagged his buck early.

Gotelaere said he's glad to get one so early in the season. He saw four does from his stand Saturday morning, but he waited for the prize to come walking out a few minutes later.

"I was in my tree by a quarter to 6, and he came out about 8:10, so I wasn't there that long but it was still cold," Gotelaere said. "If it's cool, they'll move too, you know. It's just being in the right spot is all it amounts to, and I just was lucky that he was tagging along with those does."

Gotelaere said he's had enough of that cold weather. Now that he has his deer, he's done for the season.
