The 24th Annual Twin Ports Region Thanksgiving Buffet will be served at the DECC from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th. There are also Thanksgiving Buffets in Carlton, Cloquet and Two Harbors.
Ruth Erdmann-Sluka and Jack Teske from the College of Saint Scholastica stopped by the studio to give us a sneak peek. CSS, along with many local businesses and organizations, hosts the event.
This annual event provides a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and is provided free of charge, serving an estimated 5,000 meals at the DECC and surrounding communities and 1,000 meals to home-bound residents.
Musical entertainment and a children’s craft corner will be part of the day’s events at the DECC. Santa will also be visiting and free photos will be provided.
The DTA bus service will be free again this year, thanks to the DTA and a generous donation from the National Bank of Commerce. Diners will be shuttled from the Holiday Center to the DECC and continuous bus transportation will be available throughout the day, following the DTA Sunday bus schedule. Thanksgiving Buffet meals will also be served in Carlton at the Street Car Kitchen, in Cloquet at the Zion Lutheran Church, and in Two Harbors at the Moose Lodge, all of those from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
