A Chilly Day

We saw the cold air rush in Wednesday afternoon, and it will be feeling like early October today. A persistent onshore flow keeps shoreline communities in the mid 50s versus low to mid 60s inland. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a few sunny breaks from time to time. No rain is in the forecast today.

Winds turn southerly ahead of our next cold front scheduled to move through Friday. This will bring showers, perhaps a general thunderstorm across the region. It looks to start up by Bemidji and I-Falls around dawn, early afternoon near the Twin Ports. Rainfall amounts of 0.25-0.5" is possible across our northern zones Friday with locally heavier totals possible.

As for the weekend, we may wake up to a few scattered showers Saturday followed by some clearing in the afternoon. Additional showers are possible Saturday evening into the overnight hours. Sunday does look mostly dry, but a spotty midday "instability shower" is not out of the question. Next week offers up a dry stretch along with warming temperatures.

Have a great day!
