Colder Air Approaches

Today will be another cloudy, chilly day with highs only reaching low 40s at best. A light west wind begins to ramp up and turn northerly this afternoon 10-20mph ushering us into a hard freeze the next few nights.

Expect occasional spotty rain/snow showers through the day, any snow will be melting on contact. Tonight, however, areas along the South Shore may be looking at some light slushy accumulation. Snowbelt regions from Iron County east up the Gogebic Range could pick up a couple inches, trace amounts along the Bayfield Peninsula.

The coolest day of the season falls on Halloween with temps staying in the 30s all day. Winds will be calming, and the sun will be out, so it shouldn't be that bad. For the trick-or-treaters, plan on a chilly night as we drop below freezing just after sunset. Temps Saturday morning bottom out in the upper teens to low 20s!

Don't fret about this chill too much. A slight warming trend is expected heading into next week.
