Conditions out on the roads continued to deteriorate Monday night as the snow kept falling. Roads are slick and visibility in some spots is low.

According to Duluth police, they had responded to 34 crashes as of about 9 p.m. They said no one has been injured.

Mn/DOT is strongly urging drivers to use the posted southbound Interstate 35 detour. It runs from Mesaba Avenue to Michigan Street to 21st Avenue West. From there you can get onto Highway 53 and access the interstate again.

Mn/DOT said drivers choosing other routes are causing delays. As snow continues to fall, the department also said the detour is also priority for plows.
