A 19-year-old UMD student remains in critical condition, after Duluth police say she was found outside Saturday morning.
An initial investigation by police shows Alyssa Jo Lommel was dropped off outside her Woodland Ave. residence around midnight.
She was found outside on a porch just after 9:30 a.m. the next morning suffering from severe hypothermia.
Duluth Police Public Information Officer Jim Hansen says it is believed that Lommel spent the night outside.
The overnight temperature was -17 degrees.
Lommel was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth and then flown to Regents Hospital in St. Paul.
Lommel's parents, Jay and Teri Lommel of St. Cloud, told the St. Cloud Times their daughter suffered significant damage to her hands and feet and could lose one or more of them.
Police are still investigating the incident.
