The Minnesota DNR will close the wolf season in northeastern Minnesota at the end of shooting hours Wednesday.
The DNR said the wolf harvest in the northeastern region reached the target of 33 on Wednesday. Minnesota hunters had harvested a total of 87 wolves in the state's three zones as of Wednesday.
The season continues in the northwest and east-central zones. The seasons in those zones will continue through Jan. 31 unless the target harvest is met before then.
Updates on the hunt are being posted at www.dnr.state.mn.us/hunting/wolf/index.html.
