All this snow and cold had to be good for something, right? Well, if you're a snowboarder or skier at Spirit Mountain there's some good news.
Spirit Mountain announced Tuesday they'll be extending their season. The ski hill was set to close on March 30, but now will stay open as long as conditions and business allow.
Spirit Mountain officials said spring is bringing the best snow conditions. The hill had to close several times because of brutally cold weather earlier in the season.
People on the hill Tuesday agreed the snow is in great shape.
"It's way too good of conditions to close now," Joe Erickson said.
"These aren't spring conditions," Gerald Eldred said. "These are pretty much winter right now."
Spirit Mountain Director of Marketing Briana Johnson said this season has been a rollercoaster. The season got off to an early start because of the cold, but they also had many frigid days where people opted to stay indoors.
The mountain will be open for spring hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are also offering spring rates with $15 lift tickets.
