Bella Voce, a women's choir at The College of Saint Scholastica will host a concert called "Still I Rise" on Saturday, April 5th at 3:00 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium at the college.
Two members of that choir, freshman Kalina Groothius, and senior Jenna Dobosenski, stopped by the show Thursday to tell us all about it! "We're going to join some other choirs from Northwestern and Saint Ben's, so they're going to come join us and sing," Kalina said.
The groups will be signing to benefit Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center in Duluth. Admission is free, but all donations will go towards Safe Haven. The music in the program will also reflect on the work. Besides the monetary donations, Jenna tells us that, "We're helping Safe Haven by... giving awareness that this is a resource for women and children that are going through domestic abuse."
So be sure to catch "Still I Rise" on Saturday, April 5th at 3:00 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium at CSS. You can learn more about Safe Haven by heading to their website, safehavenshelter.org, and you can learn more about Bella Voce at css.edu.
