Carlton, Minn. - In the same venue where he won the Minnesota Cruiserweight Title in April of 2013, "The Haitian Temptation" Al Sands earned another championship, this time, the vacant NABA U.S. Cruiserweight Title.
The Duluth boxer (13-1-0, 12 KOs) stopped Keith "No Holds" Barr (12-6-0, 3 KOs) of Glenville, West Virginia with a ninth-round TKO at Black Bear Casino in Carlton on Saturday night. Sands used body shots and knocked Barr down once in the sixth round, three times in the eighth round and twice in the ninth round.
Sands has now won 11 straight fights. The NABA stands for North American Boxing Association and it is part of the World Boxing Association family.
