Eden Prairie, Minn. - Former UMD Bulldog tight end Jeremy Reierson is at Vikings' Rookie Mini-Camp. He is wearing jersey number 87.
The six-foot-six, 245 pounder had 12 catches for 159 yards and five touchdowns last season at UMD and had two touchdowns during his junior season. Reierson also spent two seasons at Wisconsin before transferring.
Reierson wasn't drafted, but he is the third former Bulldog in the last two years to earn an NFL tryout, as offensive linemen Garth Heikkinen and Jake Bscherer had NFL tryouts last season.
"He (Reierson) trained for about four months down in the Twin Cities and he specifically trained for this opportunity. He has put on a little weight, he looks really good and I know that he is really excited for this opportunity. I know this was a goal of his going into this past fall. It is a great opportunity for Jeremy and I think it says a lot about our program and where we are at," says UMD Head Football Coach Curt Wiese.
