Wet weather continues to be a top story for the Northland. Rainfall moves across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

FLOOD ADVISORY and WARNING INFO

One area hit hard is Northern St. Louis County. The National Weather Service estimates between 1 and 2 inches of rain fell since Midnight, on top of 2 to 4 inches since Friday night. A FLOOD WARNING is in effect until 2:30 AM on Tuesday.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flooding. Areas included in the FLOOD WARNING are: Angora, Ash Lake, Buyck, Cook, Crane Lake, Gheen, Linden Grove, Meadow Brook, Orr, and Highway 53 between Virginia and Ash Lake.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Small Stream Flood Advisory for Northwestern Itasca and Koochiching County in Minnesota until 12:15 AM Tuesday.  This includes International Falls.

State officials say several forest service and township roads have been partially washed out due to heavy rains this weekend.  Periods of heavy rain will continue Monday afternoon and evening adding to the problem.  Some areas of Koochiching Co. have already received 2-6 inches... especially between Big Falls and Nett Lake. 1 - 3 inches of new rain is possible.

Remember to stay safe. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the road. Report flooding to the nearest law enforcement agency.

The FLOOD WATCH has been allowed to expire.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue to move through Minnesota and Wisconsin on Monday.  Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
