Officers were dispatched to a South Superior residence at about 9 a.m. Tuesday on a report that Thompson was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Police say Thompson refused to leave the residence and was placed under arrest.
Police say an officer observed a large dagger-style knife in Thompson's hand when has pulled from a chair. The officer was able to knock the knife from Thompson's hand, but he then allegedly grabbed onto the officer's holstered firearm. Thompson was handcuffed after officers used pepper spray.
