Another election season is heating up, and several Republican candidates attended the Liberty Picnic at Bayfront Festival Park on Tuesday.
The event was hosted by the Northern Liberty Alliance Tea Party, and candidates there spoke about everything from jobs, to taxes and even mining.
“It starts with the idea that we can shrink the scale of government. We can spend fewer dollars and get better results. I'm the only candidate that came out and said, 'Let's shut down this Mnsure/Obamacare debacle,'” gubernatorial candidate Scott Honour said.
“I'm very strongly in favor of Polymet and Twin Metals as projects that will put people to work and will keep Minnesota on the forefront of 21st century technology,” gubernatorial candidate Marty Seifert said.
The candidates will be busy campaigning for the next month. The Republican primary is coming up on August 12.
