Franklin High School senior Dan Andrews may be soft spoken, but his efforts in the classroom speak loud and clear.
Dan Andrews said, “Since my seventh grade year, I always wanted to make my family proud. It gives me a great feeling. It's very hard, it's a lot of homework, a lot of class work essays, but I get through it.”
Dan carries a 3.9 average and uses his skills in the classroom on the football field. He has been a two sport varsity athlete in football and basketball since his sophomore year. He’s a second year captain and running back and year round leader.
Andrews said, “Try to make them come to class on time for school, just be on the right track.”
His list of awards and accolades is long. He credits his family for their support. Top colleges like University of Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell and Syracuse are all trying to recruit him.
Andrews said, “I'm excited and nervous about starting a new life without my parents but I can handle it.”
For Dan, going to college means just a little more.
Andrews said, “It will mean a lot, the first to go to college my grandma would be proud she really believes in me more than anyone.”
