Four high school students injured in serious car vs. bus crash in Brighton

Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious car and school bus accident.

The crash happened on Warren Avenue near Clover Street in Brighton just before 3:30pm Tuesday afternoon.

Police tell News10NBC a Brighton school bus and a car driven by a Brighton High School student were involved in the crash and the car became wedged underneath the bus.

Four elementary school children from Council Rock Elementary School were on the bus. They were not injured and were released to their parents.

The driver of the car and three other Brighton High School students traveling in the car were injured and transported to Strong Hospital where they are currently under evaluation in the emergency department.  

Crews are working on trying to figure out exactly what caused the crash.

Neighbors' reaction

Neighbors said they could hear the crash happen from inside their home. They say it sounded like a loud boom. They came outside to find the car pinned under the bus.

Neighbors say after that three of the passengers came out and helped each other out of the car and were screaming for help for their friend who was still trapped.
