Wolcott man arrested for sex crimes against children

A Wolcott man has been arrested and charged for sex crimes against children.

Joseph C. Maxey, 44, of Wolcott, is charged with predatory sexual assault against a child and rape. He was arrested at his home Thursday on an arrest warrant issued by the Town of Galen.

State Police say Maxey had sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl and 14-year-old girl. Police say the contact started in 2007 in Clyde and continued for years.

Maxey was arraigned by Galen Town Justice and remanded to Wayne County Jail without bail.
