Penfield senior Christian Amering carries a 93 average and hopes to pursue a career as a civil engineer.
Christian Amering, Penfield Scholar Athlete, said, “I'm looking at RPI, Clarkson, Penn State, WPI.
I like the idea of building things and the design process. I took a civil engineering class that interests me.”
Amering also uses those skills as an Eagle Scout. For community service, he designed benches at Ellison Park. He also works at Wegmans. All that while being a three year varsity starter for the school’s soccer team. His older brother is his role model.
Amering said, “I saw him win states four years ago and I wanted to follow in his footsteps.”
He is captain and enjoys his leadership role.
Amering said, “I like to encourage my guys and make them better, a better play so they can benefit from it.”
Right now, he’s relishing the end of his high school career and preparing for the next step.
Amering said, “I’m nervous. It’s a big step in my life and a new experience. It’s something new.”
