Election Day is now less than two weeks away and the importance of voting among the Latino community was emphasized at an event on Saturday.

Peterson Vazquez, who is a candidate for the New York State 138th Assembly District, held a town hall informational meeting at the library on Calkins Road in Henrietta.

The event was designed to offer encouragement and information to members of the Latino community about everything related to the voting process.

Vazquez told News10NBC why the event is so important. He says, "It's very important that the Latino community comes out and votes, not just so one person can get elected, but it has been a community that has been taken for granted especially in areas like the city of Rochester."
