For hundreds of Rochester residents it's a second chance in life. Participants gathered at a special event Saturday afternoon to celebrate the final days of their job training program.
The program is called Green for Gold and it was created by the Pathstone Corporation in 2010. It focuses on providing job seekers, who might otherwise face many roadblocks to employment, with the skills and credentials they need to enter the labor force.
Pathstone President Stuart Mitchell says, "The unemployment rate is high for all of us and certainly high for people who have prison records or drug problems or who have never finished high school. Those are all the kinds of people we've been working with."
More than 100 participants have already found full time jobs in the Rochester area.
