As Hurricane Sandy nears the northeast United States, the American Red Cross is prepared to accommodate people who may be evacuated along the Lake Ontario shoreline and areas prone to flooding.
“Many of our volunteers and employees have been working around the clock to ensure that people in our region are safe and cared for during the storm,” said Richard King, interim Disaster Services Director. In preparation, the Red Cross has opened three shelters until further notice.
- The Dome Arena, 2695 E. Henrietta Road, Henrietta
- Brighton Presbyterian Church, 1775 East Avenue, Rochester
- Sweden Senior Center, 133 State Street, Brockport
All people living independently in the community are welcome at Red Cross shelters.
