The Monroe County Fire Bureau has sent four additional engines from Monroe County to assist in cleanup efforts in Nassau County as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

One engine each from the Gates, Ridge Road, Scottsville, and Webster Fire Departments were deployed Wednesday for a minimum of three days. Twenty fire fighters have been deployed with these engines. The Rochester Fire Department also sent one ladder truck to Nassau County Thursday.

In addition to these units, Monroe County has one rescue company from the North Greece Fire Department and one ladder company from the Chili Fire Department already operating in Nassau County.

Additional fire department resources are on stand-by if needed.
