A fire on Lake View Park resulted in damage to a house and a water main break.
Firefighters say they first received calls of an explosion at a house on Lake View Park at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday night. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from windows on the first floor of the residence and an active fire in the home's basement. Firefighters say they were able to contain the blaze to that basement.
Officials say no one was harmed during the fire and the owner is believed to be out of town when the fire occurred. Aside from damage to the home, they also say the fire resulted in other problems.
Crews say when the initially hooked up to fire hydrants, the resulting pressure caused the water main to break, which flooded the street with water. Luckily, officials say, there was still enough pressure to combat the fire.
Investigators are working to determine what may have caused the fire.
