It's a holiday tradition which helps to kick off the giving season. The annual Rosa Wims' Free Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner was held Monday afternoon.
Mother Wims has served the community for more than 25 years. On Monday, instead of being in the kitchen, she was out greeting everyone who came in.
This year, a number of volunteers along with Foodlink stepped up to help prepare the meal.
Mother Wims, who will be 90 years old this year, says she enjoys helping others
Rosa Wims said, "It's because I'm happy I'm giving, I care and you know when you're doing that you're bound, you don't wrinkle up."
Mother Wims says she selected Monday to serve the meal because there are so many other places people can go on Thanksgiving. The dinner included turkey and all the trimmings including macaroni and cheese, collard greens and corn.
