Officials from across the state are cracking down on drivers who get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.
Wednesday morning, Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn and Gates Police Chief David DiCaro joined County Executive Maggie Brooks to kick off the statewide Stop DWI campaign.
District Attorney Sandra Doorley talked about the importance of being responsible on the road. “Most importantly, as drivers and citizens, we all have the responsibility to keep our roads safe -- to never drink and drive and to prevent those around us from doing the same."
Campaign group members also put together a series of TV ad spots, radio PSAs, pamphlets and a website.
