Some people in our community got off to an early start to Thanksgiving on Sunday.
The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester served their annual Thanksgiving dinner at three locations, including a spot on Liberty Pole Way. All were welcome to the traditional meal of turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie. Salvation Army officials say the crowds were pretty steady throughout the day at all three locations.
The 29th Annual Turkey Classic Run was also held at the Southeast YMCA on Sunday morning. About 650 people came out in part to enjoy the beautiful weather. There was a five mile race as well as a one mile fun run. Event organizers say this is the biggest event for them every year and they are hoping to raise about $30,000 that will support the organization's "Invest in Youth" campaign.
