Christopher Rondeau was supposed to spend 42 months in federal prison for embezzling from the bank where he worked.
More than 20 years later, it looks like he will finally do his time.
Rondeau pleaded guilty last week to bail jumping after being returned to Western New York.
Rondeau, formerly of Rochester, never surrendered himself to the U.S. Marshals Office after being sentenced for the bank theft in February 1990.
He would probably still be free were it not for his deteriorating health.
Last year, Rondeau turned himself in to authorities in New Orleans.
In a letter to I-Team 10 purported to be from Rondeau, he says he turned himself in because he needed to seek medical treatment after suffering a severe stroke.
Rondeau is 68 years old.
He will have an additional 8 to 14 months tacked onto his original sentence.
