It's one of the biggest holidays of the year, but Thanksgiving can also be one of the most dangerous. Experts say most of that danger comes from cooking especially from deep frying.
According to the National Fire Protection Agency, Fire Departments respond to more than 1,000 fires each year involving a deep fryer.
The agency says deep fryer fries cause an average of five deaths, 60 injuries and more than $15 million in property damage each year. State Farm says cooking related fires more than double on Thanksgiving Day.
Bill Platt from the American Red Cross talked to Roc City's Lia Lando about the potential dangers and how to keep your family safe.
