The sun was out and it was a great day for a run. Thousands of people gathered in Webster for the record-setting year for the 41st annual Turkey Trot.
This year, 5,272 runners signed up for the Turkey Trot.
Organizers say it is the first time they've had more than 5,000 runners sign up for the race. Participants say it's a great way to kick off the holiday.
Lisa Moore, Canandaigua, said, "This is my first turkey trot but I'm really excited and i decided to join the crowds and come out here and have a great time."
Chad Curtis, Webster, said, "Just having some fun, burning a few calories before we go and fill up on turkey and stuffing and whatnot."
The money raised goes to several organization in the area including Hope House and also provides scholarships for high school cross country runners.
