Two Monroe County residents are facing charges after an investigating into stolen jewelry from Livingston County.
Investigators say an 84-year-old Livonia woman called 911 to report that her jewelry had been stolen from her home and she believed it was taken by a door-to-door salesman that she allowed into her home.
Deputies say the suspect, 34-year-old Yolanda Gadsby of Webster, pawned the woman’s jewelry in Rochester. Gadsby was arrested last week and is charged with tampering with physical evidence, petit larceny, tampering with a witness and obstructing governmental administration.
On Monday, Gadsby’s employer – 44-year-old Daniel Bierworth of North Chili – was arrested. According to investigators, Bierworth involved himself into the initial investigation by attempting to recover the stolen property and cover up Gadsby’s theft.
Since their arrest, Gadsby posted bail and Bierworth is still being held in the Livingston county Jail. Both are due back in court at a later date.
