The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says eight people, including a mother and daughter, were arrested following a drug bust in Williamson Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say that the Wayne County Narcotics Enforcement Team, WayneNET, executed a search warrant at an apartment on Ridge Road in Williamson. Investigators say that during the search, they observed several individuals weighing crack cocaine, which they believe was intended for distribution within the county.

During the search, deputies arrested eight individuals, including 46-year-old Tracy Rendsland, and her 17-year-old daughter Ava McGinnis. Deputies also arrested 21-year-old Alchimist McKinnon, 19-year-old Durville Delshown Peterson, 21-year-old Jamaal Moody, and 20-year-old Shameika Brown.

Officials say all eight individuals were charged with criminal possession of a controlled sustance and remanded to Wayne County Jail. Deputies also say Moody was treated for a right foot injury he sustained when he jumped out of a second story window.

Deputies say the investigation is still continuing and they expect to add more charges.
