The MOMS Club of Brockport says they were able to give away more than one thousand toys on Friday and Saturday.
It was part of the organization's 6th annual gift away held Friday and Saturday at the Brockport Elks Lodge. Any family in need was invited to come down and choose gifts for their children. They were what the moms call gently used, good condition gifts available for anyone from infants to teens. And no one was asked to give personal information like income.
Carol Ann Pittman, MOMS Club of Brockport, said, “They can pick out a larger toy. A stuffed animal. A video. A book. A puzzle for each child that they have.”
The club says this year's donations far exceeded last year's numbers. The moms gave toys out to 700 children last year. The drive helped only 22 families last year, but they were able to provide toys to more than 200 families during this year's event.
