Sheriff's Deputies in Seneca County say six members of an Amish family were injured when they were ejected from their buggy after it was hit by a car Sunday. Investigators say it happened on County Road 139 in the Town of Ovid.
News10NBC is told an Ovid woman was headed west when she hit the buggy which was going in the same direction.
Deputies say a three-year-old boy had to be taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital and at last check he is in guarded condition. The 39-year-old father and a 16-year-old daughter were treated and released at Strong. The mother, a one-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter were also treated at the scene or taken to the Cayuga Medical Center and released.
The driver was ticketed for failure to reduce speed and will be back in court at a later date.
