Late Tuesday morning, officials at Nazareth College wrapped up a tobacco policy summit to allow representatives from several area colleges to come together to talk about implementing new, on-campus smoking policies.
News10NBC spoke with Emily Diamond, Nazareth’s health instructor at the summit. She talked about how a tobacco-free environment could help to improve the health and wellness of everyone. “We are really dedicated to creating a culture of wellness on our campus and this would be part of that process."
The other participating colleges included the Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Rochester and St. John Fisher.
Currently, 600 colleges across the county are 100-percent smoke-free.
