A Rochester man, convicted twice for stabbing his girlfriend to death, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison Wednesday morning.
Donyell McKenzie stabbed 23-year-old Tyffany Porter 47 times in December 2006. He was originally convicted in 2007 but the New York Court of Appeals overturned the verdict saying the jury should have been allowed to consider a lesser charge of manslaughter by extreme emotional disturbance.
McKenzie was convicted again last month of second-degree murder.
