Driver of truck that flipped, injuring seven, arrested on assault charges

Sheriff's Deputies in Ontario County have charged the teen driver of a pickup truck that injured himself and six other teenagers.

Nineteen-year-old Alexander Brown of Bloomfield is charged with second-degree assault in connection with the November 27 crash on Pond Road in the Town of East Bloomfield.

Deputies say Brown was driving the pickup truck in a reckless manner. Four teens were ejected after the truck rolled over several times.

Injured in the crash were 17-year-old twin sisters Jessica and Joelle Henry, younger sisters 13-year-old Meagan and 16-year-old Morgan Henry, 15-year-old Haley Dewey, 18-year-old Joshua Bock and the driver, Alexander Brown.

The grandfather of the Henry sisters tells News10NBC Jessica is paralyzed from the waist down and Joelle suffered a broken neck. The two younger sisters and the other teens injured in the crash have since been treated and released from the hospital.

According to deputies, none of the teens were wearing seatbelts.

Brown was arraigned on the assault charge and is due back in court at a later date.
