A mishap with a freight train caused headaches for officials in Wayne County Sunday night.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office tells News10NBC it happened on the tracks parallel to North Creek Road, just west of East Palmyra. Officials say an axle and set of wheels came off of one of the cars causing damage to the tracks and railroad bed.
A couple of railroad crossings in the area had to be shut down for a few hours while the problem was fixed. The sheriff's office says the tracks have been cleared and the crossings were reopened Sunday night.
