The Monroe County Legislature has passed the county budget for 2013.
The budget was approved late Tuesday night 18 to 11, with the votes going along party lines.
The legislature also unanimously approved $28-million for the first round of funding for Monroe Community College's downtown campus.
News10NBC spoke to MCC President Doctor Anne Kress after the meeting. She says, "It was a night that lasted 20 years. M.C.C. has been working for 20 years to get funding for a permanent downtown campus. We couldn't be happier. We would have stayed here until tomorrow, we almost did if it was necessary. We are just delighted."
The question still remains as to where the campus will be located. Mayor Tom Richards wants the school to stay in the Sibley building while M.C.C. and county republicans favor moving the campus to vacant space at the Kodak headquarters location on State Street.
