A Steuben County man had three teenagers in the car when he was pulled over for driving while intoxicated, according to investigators.
On Saturday, deputies pulled over Ryan Mehlenbacher, 40, for a loud exhaust and avoiding an intersection.
According to investigators, Mehlenbacher tried to avoid the deputy that pulled him over by driving past the patrol car and quickly pulling into a private driveway. Deputies say he then cut across onto another street before being pulled over.
An investigation determined Mehlenbacher was under the influence of alcohol while driving. There were three passengers in the car, all ages 16 to 17.
Mehlenbacher was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, avoiding an intersection, loud exhaust, operate vehicle not equipped with interlock device and drinking alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
Mehlenbacher was arraigned in Bath Village Court. Mehlenbacher is to reappear in court at a later date. More charges are pending an investigation by Child Protective Services.
