New York State is getting federal money, to make the state's agricultural products more competitive.
Governor Cuomo says $1-million will go toward research, development and promotion of state crops.
That money includes 200 thousand dollars to support the growth of New York’s wine, beer and spirits industry. At a summit in October, industry leaders told the governor more research and development is needed to grow.
The governor says this will help the state spark economic development.
