nullA Lyons teenager is accused of choking his girlfriend and then driving away in her car without a driver's license.

Sheriff's Deputies say 18-year-old Joseph Zanders got into a fight on Monday with his girlfriend at a laundromat in the Town of Ontario.

According to investigators, Zanders grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and started choking her in front of their two young children.

News10NBC is told Zanders left in his girlfriend's car and drove to Rochester, stranding her and her two children at the laundromat.

Officials say he abandoned the car at his mother's house in Rochester.

Zanders is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Zanders is in the Wayne County Jail on $1,000 bail.
