A Wayne County man accused of killing his mother is scheduled to face a judge Friday morning.
50-year-old Daniel Burkwit is charged with manslaughter. Investigators believe he caused his mother to fall down some stairs and break her neck during an argument in October.
Deputies say he then buried her in the woods near their home.
Burkwit was arrested on harassment charges, shortly after police say he confronted a neighbor who called police to report the death of Burkwit's mother.
Officials say it was while Burkwit was in jail on those charges, that he confessed to another inmate that he killed his mother.
Burkwit is being held without bail in the Wayne County Jail. He is expected to appear in Lyons Town Court at 9 a.m.
